How I work
Adam approaches therapy with an open mind, free of judgement and full of genuine care. His therapeutic approach is grounded in attachment theory, and his sessions are client-centred. He draws on a variety of theoretical frameworks and techniques, including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and other behavioural modalities. His approach remains adaptable to each client’s unique perspectives, experiences, and needs.
He believes that the motivation and capacity to develop positive change come from within each individual. Adam naturally gravitates towards developing an empathetic understanding of clients, helping to build strong therapeutic relationships and positive expectations for therapy.
Adam has extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and adults on concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma, sport, relationships, disordered eating, OCD, and stress.
As a former schoolteacher, Adam brings a well-informed perspective to supporting children, adolescents, and parents. As a long-time combat sports coach and athlete who remains highly involved at the professional level, he offers a distinctive, strengths-based approach to everyday challenges.
In recent years, Adam has also gained considerable experience supervising and providing consultation to other therapists.
